i am a tad ashamed...

to admit that the closing song on The Hills last night (amid the Heidi/Spencer alley fight) helped me to discover the Weepies. This band is stellar, the girl and guy in the group both sing weeee! variety in the most perfect combination, like my lovely Rilo Kiley did/does. The song from the episode is amazing Love Doesn't Last Too Long. Check out their myspace, only $.99 a song, great deal if you ask me. Support them! Check out Somebody Loved and Gotta Have You, too. Weeeee! i heart the weepies!
and you will too.

if wishes were quid...

if at this moment in time, i was across the pond, living comfortably in a fab flat with my rocker bf, i would already have ALL of kate moss' line at topshop in my personal posession and i would have already worn all over it several times over, to the whispers of fashionista's around London. but seriously, my mini-current obsession with high/low, now has been taken to a new niche with this celeb-iconic model-style mixed with affordable fashion line. yum, for details check out the topshop site, its sold out but you can look and lust.
or you can satisfyingly watch this lil vid on how the topshop's primo team took vintage pieces of ms. moss', that inspired pieces in the collection.

also a delicious indulge, hit up your local newspaper stand and buy the $5-$8 dollar British Vogue with the hottest pics of Kate in her own TS line. trust me, its worth it. foreign vogue's are always better ug, except for ms. scarlett' pics this month, to die for.

LOUD ACCESSORIES are where its at

i have been scouring style.com and style bogs, and i am obsessed temporarily with neon. seriously like when i was in elementary, and wanted all neon all the time. and my mom would fight with me cause she said it was too trendy and i'd be over it in a few months. yes, i used to have trend fights like this with my mother when i was that young.
here are some delious goodies i came across:

can't you picture this delicious dress with these whimsical killer heels:

and i'll through in this hot bag for good measure, as it reminds me of the fab purses my grandma had when i was a little girl:

i give you my dream outfit of the day. you think its a bit over the top?
GOOD!

bag lady?

whats with this huge 80s patchwork bowling bag that lydia hearst has been carrying around to all the shows & parties?

i get it, its puma for heatherette or the reverse, and its the Lydia bag but its not cute, its massive and not quite a cocktail bag dear. Anyone know the story behind it?

Reports say Theodora Richards and Elizabeth Jagger are designing Puma bags too, lets hope these rock royalty have better taste than a certain socialite turned model.

under construction

found this, literally the genius at work, i love the random musik playing in the background too.
ms. moss models so effortlessly, it hurts. she has been doing it for so long, it is second nature.
the vid never ceased to fascinate me. haha

on an indie music kick...

Brother-Annuals
this little band full of childhood friends from north carolina are influenced by all kinds of music genres, and it shows-in a stellar way. brother is a mellow tune, lyrically illustrating nostalgia. which i love. these kids, they are all younger than me, know what they are doing.

here is another little vid from their national debut on conan of Carry Around, it shows the variation and choas of their sophisticated in a backwoods way styles. check out the album Be He Me. the artistry shall amaze.

acid-rave sci-fi funk-punk

Gravity's Rainbow- The Klaxons
the album is sick. myths of the near future. they will be in bklyn in april, and i will be in the front row screaming!
Studio B on April 13th, will you be there?
they are three of the cutest London boys ever. please check them out, you will not be dissapointed.
The Bouncer is a great song too!
enjoy

the threat of truth...

since, i haven't yet rambled about my obsession with new music, etc.
here is the new vid, from the Cold War Kids. its a little movie.
check out the whole album Robbers, lyrically delicious.

hang me up to dry-cwk

Wham Bam thank you, STAM, yet again

Ms. Jessica is fierce. her walk caught at a stand still is perfection here.
this picture is yet another reason why there is a STAM bag by Marc

and now a necklace of her silhouette, she has always been quite inspiring...

Alex+Chloe are also making this other life like "imitation" as the highest form of flattery:

entitled, the only "moss" in our woods hah

High Fashion-this girl is all the way vogue

Some things i forsee being huge in fashion from the Milano.Paris shows AND/OR things i want & will be trying to find at a thrift store near you...
*i need some booties/DOC Martens (whether they are patent or platform) grunge is back kids!
*when everyone is buying their grey at Gap, wear ORANGE instead! i will need a new dress/bag/trench, but i think i have a H&M skirt that shade from a few years ago i can dig up too!

*Colorful leg warmers (translating to tights and knee highs) prada always reinventing...

*Bold Metallics, did not dissapear they are staying & are stronger than ever! the ruffled look is a bit extreme, but it proves you can wear gold WITH silver!

*Dolce&Gabanna made red a SURPRISE metallic, and the waist cinchers are HOT

*my overall interpretation with the shows is that a VINTAGE vibe of thrift store chic is it. As an everyday personal mixer of high/low fashion, pricey pieces/salvation army steals, watching these designers put their stamp on the beauty of mismatched fierce enduring looks of yesteryears made me smile. It is sorta awesome to see on the runway knowing you can replicate in your own way Marc Jacobs looked very 70s/80s, Mr. Lagerfeld made Chanel look like high class thrift store looks.

The secret is make an era and style yours, because the times may change but fashion is actually permanent and always cycles back.

Say Hello to Never

i want to be ms. edie...

style.com jumped on the bandwagon making a top ten "edie does it" dress list

Almost Famous

So you want to be a celebrity? don't we all...found this amusing list online
apparently though these are insider's secrets to stardom...overnight. According to the UK's most notorious publicist Max Clifford, all you need is this 10-point guide:

10. Be in the right place at the right time.
9. Be a success on MySpace.
8. Make a home sex video.
7. Date a royal family member.
6. Flaunt your body.
5. Date a celebrity.
4. Gain fame by association.
3. Be abysmal on a talent show.
2. Enter a talent contest.
1. Appear on a reality series.
[Nicole Richie was his numero uno example. hehe]
the more the better, everyone jump to it.

i want earplugs

I Want Candy (remake)- Mel C
so, really what do you think of this?
perez hilton gave her props. i think it is infantile and silly. european listeners should be insulted that this is what is being marketed to them. the only the US did right, forgot about the spice girls.

[although, Holla was kinda fierce, but mostly it was the producers-not the girl power]

**too bad they are letting Posh move to LA because now she is Mrs. Becks. LA *kinda* doesn't really count though.

my oscar two-cents

i know i am a week late, but i thought it'd be fun to do my own little take on Oscar fashion. i wanted to do something slightly different though. so, these are party pics, mostly younger hollywood that i *love* haha. people who didn't go to the ceremony, just the PARTIES. i thought i'd just focus on the less seen fashion that i was captivated by.

Copykitten Selma Blair may have the same waist size as Dita Von Teese but one (pair) of these things is not like the others....

i call this look EAT YOUR HEART OUT, KATIE HOLMES! Ginnifer Goodwin has a STELLAR dress.body.man! (minus that hair)

Dishelved, and untucked Ryan, reminds us he wasn't invited to the oscars...this year

Helena C. proves she will always be a supermodel *better in front of the camera* despite her current photographer status. look at that draping *heaven*

Hayden proves she is ALWAYS an invincible cheerleader. silver was a cleve, youthful and fun choice.

Penelope changed, sometimes change is not GOOD. is it two dresses? and after that dreamy Versace Atelier...

Winona Ryder looked cutesy but drab *colour won't kill her* and is it just me or do her tits look huge *perhaps fake* these days. i refuse to comment on the man with her, i miss her dating indie rock stars.

What was Rashinda Jones thinking? *is she preggers?* but Ms. Natalie P was classic, all the way to her scarlet fingertips. (but HONESTLY, what are they doing posing with Mr. Sly Foxx himself? ew) P.S. portman's eye make-up is to die for. *damn*

since, i paid no mind to the dresses.stars who were covered by the media masses visually, i will briefly verbally give them just my one-cent.
*kudos to gwyneth for wearing *gorg* zac posen two weeks after we saw it on the fall runway.
*ms. dunst, you may have been wearing Chanel Haute Couture but that quirky collared dress look doesn't even really work on size 0, 6 ft french girls. however, it is a handsewn.crafted masterpiece of ART. sigh.
*muchos kudos to Maggie G. and Emily Blunt for their *NAVY* invasions. proenza schouler and calvin klein respectively and slimming perfection.

what not to wear's Stacey London even tried to jump on the navy/black bandwagon, much less successfully. that huge smile did NOT help.

it's the nature of the experiment

As a slightly obsessive *albeit discriminating* follower of all things pop culture, i figured it was about time that i too would begin a social commentary on blogspot. my own personal take on all things that i am currently intrested in. my view will be as one-sided as it gets, except when i decide to inquire from others about whatever it is that strikes my fancy. i am a huge fan of genius style-high fashion and simpleton style-low fashion that looks like haute. i read many fashion glossies: female.male, foreign.domestic, physical.online. i frequent fashion.beauty.celebrity blogs. *if you find a new interesante one, please do share* i online window shop more than anyone i know. i pretend bid on items i *watch* for days on eBay. i am a self defined music elitist, who prides myself in discovering new bands, knowing which of my friend will turn me onto new quality sounds and songs. i love tunes with amazing lyrics that speak to me and guitar riffs that make me feel like i am sitting right in front of the musician. i try to check stuff out on youtube as frequently as it sucks me in. sadly, this does not happen as frequently as it does for most. i am actually scared about the centripetal power youtube can have over one with a bit of free time on their hands. before i know it, its hours later, i am not sure where i have just been in cyberspace but i have watched zillions of mini vids on all kinds of arbitrary things AND all of my friend's inbox's are full of all kinds of crazy ditties i believe they must watch ASAP. i also get the typical IM or email from a friend to check out some vid. or i hear from a random at a party.restaurant.etc about a funny i might enjoy.
for instance, my classics:
SHOES

MUFFINS

never cease to give me a giggle.
well this is all i feel i want to expose in my first post, it'll get more detailed as i go along. i am very open to ideas or suggestions people have for items for me to rant on. check back frequently, i sure i'll be writing tons of the crud in my head.
