p.treacy headpiece

Alaias!!!

D&G eyelet cutenesssss

fashion images that inspire and provoke me
designers and photographers
fashion and abstraction
straightforward and yet all perspective
reflect
marinate
soak 'em up!

CoCo float up, up and away

now imagine the Vivenne Westwood poufness or being a CLOUD with.......

these stunning shoes......sigh.
i'd wear one black and one white sometimes...keep it fun and to show off the intricately delicateness
airy light but high fashion genius

i want to mix and match the pieces above....created some light and dark stlyish fun.....imagine the possibilities

flutter

map of lights
to the city center
the heart of it all
as you travel away
the brilliance
fades out, burns to ash
being lost in the darkness is disorienting
and distant
and sometimes
the core seems so far removed
my eyes are shut
so i wouldn't even know if the shine was there

i flutter my lashes
the glare creeps in
its overwhelming
i don't know if i want to keep opening them
continue the fight
but i will
and one day
i will just revel in the rays
fully open
again

this time i won't save you

Son of a Gun- Oh Land

Heard these amazing Danes at the FILTER/Oya showcase for CMJ
and I was blown away, and you will be too soon.
My prediction is they will blow up on the European scene more this year, especially after CMJ
and then slowly but surely the USA will follow in popularity
its sugary sweet, but gritty lyrics of Indie Pop deliciousssssnesssss
its on iTunes, you can get it now and be ahead of the way
Fauna is a spectacular album
SPECTACULAR
i got my free copy and i'm dying
the gays are going to flip for this and the dance remixes that will subsequently follow
i can image it on Top 40 stations and mTV too
this is dancey
this is good
realllll good
the lead singer is hot ballerina (always good)
the drummer is hot.
listen now. this pure and simple music chemistry.
this is a great combo and you will LOVE it.
i promise *wink*

you go down down down
i fall out of love with you
this time i won't save
when you drown drown drown

the sum of my parts

living in the moment seems so simple
yet it feels
completely foreign
to not know what's next
its always frightened me
it subsides
but yet resides
i conquer everyday
as one more unknown
under my belt
and yet i yearn for the days
when having to feel this way will be no more
it feels good now
but is it what i really want?
if i don't want it
but need it.
will my needs and wants ever overlap properly?
so that i may know them intimately
to protect, maintain, build, and feed them
as they are ME
my core
my soul
my truest feelings
the sum of my parts

[something i wrote years ago in a journal, and yet still and constantly relevant in my struggle for self actualization]
le sigh.

lust

he needed love
he needed now
now he speaks of desire
what was he feeling before

he said he'd never be able to leave me
he said he would always be there to catch me
he rushed all the love
the flood swallowed us whole

in its wake
we try
to pick up the pieces
of the us we treasured
together

i needed attention
i needed to be needed
i needed his lust
then

{older poem from the ex. add those last four lines today. kinda so in love with it now. retrospect is 20/20.}

constant life fashion moment

Obsession of the day
Anna Dello Russo
Editor in Chief of Vogue Japan
Italian bred slim beauty
Gawker reported today that
She lives in excess, during recession
(Fashion knows no recession nonsense)
just like all of those stunning Vogue shoots that we ooze over each month

She has a one bedroom apartment in Milan
devoted to her wardrobe

FIERCE

I mean we
already
knew
she
was
OBVIOUSLY
but now
She is just
OVER THE TOP
OTT
Over 4,000 pairs of shoes

(probably each worth more than my rent HA)
To spend a day in her Louboutins, sigh
And 250 tuxedo jackets......um.....I have two (and I thought that was a bit much)

The quote to end all quotes:
"New purchases get front-row treatment in the main walk-in closet, next to her leopard-print bedroom. A zoolike collection of exotic fur coats ("It's been a bloodbath-furs are my weakness," she admits) is maintained in labeled cloth bags, while a season's lesser models get relegated to nonslip hangers in the nosebleed back row. Once the season ends, everything is cleared out (except for the furs, which are exempt from expiration dates) to make way for new loot. Depending on the evicted item's star wattage, it may go next door, to apartment number two, from which it may or may not emerge. Or it may be exiled to a giant closeted basement: the fashion graveyard."

She lives in Fashion Magland
Her life is one long...
Perfect Fashion Moment
Endless spread shoot after another
from every expressive saturated angle
She really is flawless, extreme fashion forward.
She takes risks (unlike Anna), but keeps the looks edgy and sexy. (Unlike Carine)
Her wardrobe is a Vogue closet
damnit.
I am so jealous.

how can you not be massively inspired by her?

Around the World....

i love that the Vogue empire has been reaching to fashion markets around the world recently
when i was in India last year, it was the 1 year anniversary of Vogue India
I caught this cover online, a few months ago for Vogue Turkey
The Middle East is uncharted territory for high fashion
even though the money and interest are out there
So this is very exciting
and well....JESSICA STAM! Looking sooooo ferosh
and you know how I love love lover her versatile look
that hair!!!!!! (i shall be replicating it soooon)
and that dress !!!!!!!
how I love a sheer back and peek over the shoulder
but I wonder about the aesthetic for the region
white girl, not even remotely brown or even tan
very blonde
except for the smokey eyes
and the more revealing dress....
covering the front but this is a lot of skin
hmmmm
so as much as I love the artistic impression of the image as a cover
Has Vogue lost their way here?
(i think so *cringe* sooooorry Vogue still love you, do better next time)
xoxo

Moschino girl at HEART

recently over drinks with fashion friends
we all were trying to identify the fashion house that best
personifies us, is our style in all of their collections
in style, colour, cut, shape, etc. etc.
i struggled with putting myself into just one house, into one box if you will
i find my style ever changing and versatile, very dynamic, diverse
my dear friend A said, without hesitation, "You're a Moschino girl! of course"
For a moment, I looked at him boogled.
I thought to myself, 'No way, I don't conform'
But then I thought about it...
and thought about...
and mused some more over at style.com, especially Moschino's recent showing~

the colours, the retro styles/cuts, the jewelry (mod and chunky)
mismatched amazing patterns, centers of attention, pieces people talk about as they walk by
statement fashion, feminine but bold, pop art inspired but still elegant and refined
youthful but mature
aka SO ME.
so just when i was embracing this revelation
I saw these chairs, Mademoiselle Moschino had designed for Phillip Stark's Kartell designer series
and I died.
they are SO ME. But $865 each on YOOX.com if you're interested.......

modern edge, in transparent or black
punk princess sketchy
graphic heart motifs
they're delicious, girly and yet still classic
versatile, will work in any apartment from a teenager to 20something to grown woman at her den desk working....

Oh Moschino we are a match made in heaven....
(i will need to do a little shoot in my LBD Moschino ruffles and tiers of adorableness)
