you're not a clock, you're a TIME BOMB baby

"i'm gonna sleep with the next person i meet"

The Format - Time Bomb
so this song currently is my anthem, but the band is indie pop at its best. Dog Problems is the new album, and a lot of people love the song the album is name for. I am less convinced by it, but there are many hidden gems in these boys repatiore. Time Bomb is not only catchy but has a great message (oh gosh i can't believe i just pulled out that card, but its true) and i can relate. the lyrics are witty and humorous. She Doesn't Get It is hilarious and clever. You can't help sing along to these boys and dance to the beat up&down. I heart On the Porch too. dig around the Format's myspace and stuff, you'll find some lovely musik too.

all the girls pose the same for pictures
all the boys gots the same girl's hair
can i take you home? i know it's wrong
but i know your type

BONDE DO ROLE!

Bonde do Role - Funk da Esfiha
their actual musik videos are really low budget (and sorta cheesy for that matter, not to knock em but its true), and i thought this great vid from SXSW was genuine bonde do role cause it shows them as a LIVE MUSIK experience. they are such an amazing live band, and i think this vid sums it up. I saw these guys open for the Klaxons in bklyn, and they kick soo much @$$. I was jumping up and down, despite being wedged between the front speakers. marina the lead singer is so stellar musically & fashionable and well...totally nuts! crazy brazilians singing in portuguese, very rock/hip hop fusion (there is a rapper Gorky with the strangest voice haha), high enery and ALWAYS tons of fun. Marina Gasolina is high energy tune that is constantly on repeat on my iPod. Their new album With Lasers is quality, and on sale on iTunes. hit it up

It was dirty, a dream came true..

i loved my english romance....

The Teenagers - Homecoming
this little diddy is naughty and silly. perfect explanation of the male take on vacation flings and the female romanticizes version hehe. i love the fashion and cute frenchlooks of the boys and girls in the video. also when have you ever known me to turn down lyrics like this:
he was wearing wearing skinny jeans
had funky hair
and the cutest british accent ever
straight away i could tell he was ROCKER!
from his sexy attitude and the way he looked at me
hmm he is totally awesome
oh my god i think i am in love

ain't that always the way...

'tis the season

As modernity has made the union of marriage a very controversial subject, my mind plays tricks on me when the spring/summer months still make me think of brides and weddings. sadly, i have only attended one wedding and it was very simple (as it was the bride's second). also as a young woman who is unsure if she even wants to give someone "forever" and then, if i'll even legally bind it because marriage is not yet an equal right merely a religious constrant for closeminded heterosexuals. when many loving couples can't seal their love by law and zillions of ridiculous couples run through marriages like toliet paper, i wonder about the traditions of weddings. thus the extravagant trains and ornate dresses, romantic locales and whimsical ceremonies may become, dare i say it, obsolete. so therefore i am extremely torn when i see these grand gowns that flutter down the runway last as our couturiers reveal their bridal looks. i saw this and couldn't help but share it. they may one day dissapear forever.

the flouncy skirt, and avante garde, slightly daring neckline is unexpected. the spontaneous random loops of the simple but large veil is delicious. i would be a vivienne westwood bride anyday. wouldn't you?
