the devil

tonight a white peacock haunted my thoughts. i obsessively looked at pictures of gorgeous white peacocks online. here is a marvelous hybrid.

'All its plumage fiery with the starshine,
Nacreous, shimmering, weeping, iridescent,
It drifts across the floor and mounts the bed,
To the tap of little satin shoes.
Gazing with infernal eyes.
Its quick beak thrusting, rending, devil's crimson . . .
Screams, great tortured screams shake the dark canopy.
The light flickers, the shadow in the corner stirs;
The wax face lifts; the eyes open.

A thin trickle of blood worms darkly against the vast red coverlet and spreads to a pool on the floor.'

what? i AM a Plastic.

just got back from jetsetting to Rio with my gay boys
and went to the Melissa store in Ipanema Beach shopping area. SAW THREE PAIRS OF ZAHA SHOES IN PERSON! truly stunning.
you can't try them on, they are in plastic cases like art, i guess like they should be. they weren't even for sale, just for show.
but if i owned them i'd wear them all the time. so i tried on quite a few pairs, was really disappointed with the Vienna Westwood ones, i really thought i'd buy the black ones with the three ankle straps, but the matte plastic is ugly. (more palatable for my blog in this bronze, but unfortunately, these pictures really make them look better than they are)

so anyways after trying on quite a few pairs, and being disappointed by the fact that this particular store had very few pairs in my big foot size (ie the black booties below that i wanted for my stylish rainy days in manhattan, boo)

but my pal simon said we had to leave and go eat freijoda, saturday special bean stew-ended up AMAZING! however, because of our hasty retreat, i didn't have time to purchase. and boy was that a blessing in disguise. we had not discovered the crazy downtown bargain shopping mecca/experience that is Centro. Cheap cute cool hip shoes for cheap, i am talking dirt cheap. i wish i could of bought suitcases full for friends, family and more to sell to turn a profit. i found my plastic shoes in the bargain bins for mostly less than $10 (gotta love the Brazil Real exchange rate!) I got the black knockoff version of these Melissa's swirly flats with an ankle strap (thus more practical and CUTER!)

I got a few other pairs, but the ones that were mirrors after ZAHAS were so impossible to find in my size in black. i found a location with white but couldn't bring myself to buy them (even though i think they were $3, i am so stupid, i get so fixated on what i want when i shop sometimes) i will post pics of me in the beauties sooon, before fall really gets here. but even then, i bet they will look adorable with tights!
