buffalo pumps

so about a month ago...i went on a spending spree. most fashion girls dream, thus mine, but not so agreeable to my credit card debt, but agreeable to my credit card company. anyways enough about my lack of shopping self control and huge credit card bill due next week. ON TO THE BUYS....(this will be the first of a couple shopping posts to catalogue my new children)
so i splurge at buffalo exchange (the new-ish one in manhattan on east 11th (between 1st and 2nd)). they actually have great designer buys for STEALS-better than the williamsburg which my roommate&i frequent, the only problem with that is they aren't buying for high prices that your resale is worth. so with a small credit in hand, i mostly forked over NEW MONEY. but i got these babies......

Fall RTW 06 Donna Karan Collection Blood red leather/suede stacks pumps with gold mirror inlayed heel DIVINE! only $60
and

same DKCollection pony Leopard spectators with side cutouts and that same FABULOUS gold mirror heel (these are higher than the red ones) these were over $100, i have mentally blocked how much they exactly were and i'd like to leave it that way HAH

i am including some of the runaway look pics with the shoes...they are kinda inspiring.

i love that i am still mulling over fall and its so hot in ny, thus basically spring/summer already.

i think the leopard spectators will definitely come out in the spring with skinny jeans and tank or a cute little beige dress (like the runway look minus the tights...)

i already wore the red pumps with a divine black/white vintage number (with some sheerness at the top too ironically) to a family black tie wedding, and let me tell you. RED PUMPS make a night and any outfit MORE FUN! i'm just saying...

off the shoulder red hoodstooth, GENUIS! i need a little summer version to wear with the red minnie mousers soooooooon

Oh yes I will, I will give it all to you

The Kooks-Sway

Say whatever you have to say, I'll stand by you

Be whoever you have to be, I won't judge ya

And take whatever you have to take, you know I love ya

i was flying back from India on gorgeous&luxurious Emirates airlines that has the most AMAZING inflight entertainment system called ICE. Millions of movies, tv and MUSIK! World music, pop music, old music, full collections of everything classic artists had EVER recorded and you can make playlists and such. AKA AMAZING, right?!? well I was watching the british indie music video channel and stumbled over this gem. The Kooks are becoming an old standby in brit/pop/indie delightfulness. i hadn't been able to check out their new album (i work too much, thus i get behind in COOL tunes) Konk&Rak (the 2cd set) is stellar. really a great spring/summer soundtrack-i suggest you go to the record store or itunes pronto. its a serious upper, happy and sing song along joyous lovely tunes...i dare you to not smile while listening!

...and I need you heart, because you're always in the right places...

MJ moment

i have been hording style inspiration photos on my desktop again...
so i will be needing to post more often (Especially music, i have tons of goodies up my sleeves or um...just in my iPod and multitudes of summer concerts coming up yipppe- I LOVE THE SUMMERS IN NYC!)

i was religiously following ny fashion a few months ago...and these were some standouts from Marc Jacobs show. i think he's done it again, reinvented himself and his label. everyone is up in arms over the ethnic amazingness he's doing at LV (which i would like to comment on later, as i was just in INDIA and poured over the indian fashion mags-so different, yet quite british...and they LOVE mj's new LV stuff) but these are so chic, glamourous, fashion forward, and yet still translatable to normal fashion girls...and wearable. the angles, the shapes that manipulate the body, the juxtaposition of textures and those BOLD AMAZING colours, keeping with the older volume trends but redefining them for NOW.

secretary chic, trends we can draw from and make our own, shoulder pads (how i love you), womanly curves, long GLOVESSSS

these pants are so MAJOR, the hair is brills-i wonder if i can make my wig do that(?!), the tops is also brills-evening wear for the day for work, for walking down the street-it easily goes from day to night-i love the avant garde shape and the rich saturated coloursssssss

a spoonful of sugar.....sweetcakes&milkshakes

Daydream delusion, limousine eyelash
Oh baby with your pretty face
Drop a tear in my wineglass
Look at those big eyes
See what you mean to me
Sweet-cakes and milkshakes
I'm a delusion angel
I'm a fantasy parade
I want you to know what I think
Don't want you to guess anymore
You have no idea where I came from
We have no idea where we're going
Lodged in life
Like branches in a river
Flowing downstream
Caught in the current
I carry you
You'll carry me
That's how it could be
Don't you now me?
Don't you know me by now?

a beautiful poem from one of my favourite movies-Before Sunrise (if not favourite, the movie stirs my soul)
if you haven't seen it yet, DO IT RIGHT NOW
then watch the sequel that came out 10 years later...its the characters meeting again 10 yrs later, brills
Before Sunset...staring Julie Deply (check out her music&designs) and Ethan Hawke(in all his early 90s glory...i need an awkward man like that)
they are both 'heartbreaking works of staggering genius'

Pixieland

so I chopped my hair off, starting about a year ago. and then in January I went to the Pixieland territories. But I LOVE IT! I was just reading tavi, the style rookie's blog and she just went there to. ALL POWER TO HER. its so easy and cute ALWAYS-even when you are dirty and lazy haha. i thought i'd post some photos i've collected since the short began that have inspired me...i don't think i'll go back to hair even though....recently i miss having hair to do 'things' with. even though i know when i had the hair, i RARELY styled it cool. oh well ENJOY! hopefully it'll inspire some people to make THE CHOP for summer, i promise you-you won't regret it-its extremely liberating and like i said WAY CUTEEEEE!

those streets are a battlefield...

so summer is coming to a close and the country is falling into a money hole. what is the silver lining to this situation?
well SALES ON CUTE SUMMER SHOES! thats what.

and this is what i got for a steal...regularly $120...bought for disgustingly lower. Jeffrey Campbell CALI gladiator mini-cone heels (very new Marc). Comfy, cute, well-made, cheap price, the black colour gives them a deliciously dominatrix feel too. My plan is to wear them as much as possible until the weather turns...then rock em with tights and thick knitted high socks into Fall and maybe Winter (if Mother Nature continues to decline, giving us another forgiving almost snow-free one this year). i was surveying jeffrey campbell's wide range of amazingness online this morning, his site is funky...and found my shoes...in gold/silver.wow.
such a fun way to combine the metallic trend mr. campbell. kudos!

adorable! and i thought i was sick of gladiators, and he reinvented them. impressive sir.

let your underthings show...

as summer approaches, and i am cleaning off my desktop of massive amounts of fabulous pics i *borrowed* from fashion sites over the past few months. i recalled a birthday party i attended recently recently, wearing a vintage black linen-y dress that kept slipping off my shoulder, exposing a lovely beige Natori lacy bra most of the night (and more, slightly embarassingly, importantly in all the photos taken and later posted on myspace/facebook for all the world to see!) but i actually didn't mind it so much, after the initial shock wore off. i realized i wasn't the first one to pull of this look.

i really can't help but notice and applaud the classy way designers are showing off lingerie... be it an expensive bra or slip, just peeking out from the top of a blouse or hemline of a dress. we spend so much money on the sexiness, pretty, demure lacy numbers underneath, why not let them say Hello! in a civilized way?

what do you think? would you dare to bare some of your underthings......

StyleSight.com

i was just minding my own business walking down Prince St. last wednesday and what should happen. something out of dreams. a man with a camera approaches me just as i pass the Prada store (i was definitely lingering at the window on Broadway and gazing longingly at those new chunky shoes and vintagey dresses for this season). he says may i take your photo for a fashion sighting blog. i say of course, shyly. in my head its like a surprise party, streamers, balloons, confetti, cake&ice cream, all my friends are there and i am BEAMING. he has me step up the street more, for a better archiecture angle, the Prada buidling is beautiful from the side (and honestly I cannot think of another place on Earth, let alone Soho, where i'd rather be photographed for a fashion blog). honestly, i felt gross that day, my bf was coming later that evening, so i was freshly showered but that was about it. i was black and whited out. check out the guys site, he does a lot with fashion shows&shoots too. it was quite the honour. and hopefully the first of many...hehe

i went shopping!

bought these Marc Fisher Brown leather booties yesterday. i am so in love, i got them at a vintage store (Vice Versa on Bedford) so they were worn once or twice (which REALLY makes them all the more endearing and hotter). i love the heel, the shape, the texture, the richness of the colour and the way they look with my zippered side skinny jeans. don't you love it when you buy something and it feel soo right...
