express yourself

don't repress yourself

what you need is a big strong hand
To lift you to your higher ground
make you feel like a queen on a throne
make him love you till you can't come down
you'll never come down

Express yourself
You've got to make him
Express himself

hey hey hey hey

and i'm not sorry
it's human nature

feathered friends

from my older prada browsing. i so love the details photos that style.com posts. they are like pieces of art in their own right.
this waist-line is divine, one shoulder and those colours, layers, textures-KNITS for spring!...and my weakness, peacock feathers. i suggest you buy one at the dollar store or craft store and add it to an outfit. to your hair, in your belt...make the feather part of you showy aviary-self this spring.

Chloe controversy?

making the dream very attractive.
perhaps too attractive?

Fashionista and Fashion Addict have said their peace on this but i thought i'd throw in my two cents. Apparently my *beloved* H&M ripped off my *inspirational* Chloe for their Fall ad campaign.
The vid is behind-the-scenes at the Hotel Particular in Paris during the youthful Chloe shoot with Freja, Shalom and Anja.

Since I first saw the Chloe ad in Vogue, i've wanted Anja's to-die-for bob cut&coulour (and the "Vitamin" dress haha). Then picked up H&M magazine a few weeks ago, first oogled over Freja in Rome layouts (its brillant and oh so mod!) and then saw Anja's hair again, of course fell in love again. This video shows how she get her cut on the set of the campaign (i love!). As a fashion mag addict, and a bit overstimulated by style.com's instant gratification, I didn't even notice how the photos, models, stark backgrounds (and style of dresses-but that is expected-its what H&M does best) were so similiar, maybe in fact alarmingly identical. Chloe's garments are obviously higher fashion-more extraordinary, so beautiful and very mod. The model choices were a perfect (love when Shalom is in real fashion ads-she is such a unique model-, not Tiffany *puke*), the locale was so structural next to the bold colours of those dresses. H&M saw a perfect idea, decided to copy it and figured who's gonna stop us? this is perhaps crossing into a new line of fashion copyrights faux pas. obviously no legal action has begun and it is only controversy amound the fashion inclined, but what do you think?

Mini Mary

you too can be a *true* chelsea girl

so lately, i have been a fashion funk looking for inspiration-mostly i end of looking to the streets (facehunter.org) but stumbled across an oldie but goodie. Ms. Mary Quant, the queen of the miniskirt, patterned/coloured tights (PURE GENUIS!) and the hotpants, is it. In my opinion, she was the much cooler, edgier Twiggy (but not really a model, though she dabbled, she was a designer & built a makeup/housewares mini-empire). essentially, she shoudl be who people remember from 60s british fashion instead.

evoke the swinging 60s of London yourself, with multi-colored stripes, shorties, blunt bobs, tons of eye-makeup and plastic raincoats.
then you too can channel ms. quant.

p.s. despite my extreme summer blonde-ness, mary is making me want to go dark AGAIN.
with a very chic bubble bob for fall.
