you're a liar and thats the truth

An Actor Out of Work- St. Vincent
from Annie Clark's new sophomoric album Actor
due out tomorrow, may 5th
its seems like such a rush after her 2007 first solo album, Marry Me, that i was absolutely obsessed with only last summer, but that album was a bit of a sleeper hit.
if you are in Austin tomorrow, go to the listening party with Camera Obscura @the Mohawk, i bet it will be major
this video is from the sxsw sessions from npr, i like it more than the refined video. i like her raw, her voice is so pure and sugar sweet and mixed with those groovy guitar rifts...you know i am sucker for that with a sprinkle of whimsically back beats. i have also heard The Strangers from the album...its great too [paint the black hole, blacker...] this is a delightful, light, not too in your face, but highly enjoyable album to start the summer's slew of indie hits.

i think i love you, i think i am mad

***UPDATE 5/9 Last night at the Bjork/Dirty Projectors show, I had the pleasure of meeting Annie. She was so sweet, she enjoyed the show as much as I. She was so cute and pretty. I definitely will be checking out her show at Webster hall on May 20, tickets aren't sold out yet, PLEASE JOIN ME!
