the black and white issue
VOGUE April 1950
halloween inspiration
what's black and white? and glamourous to the max?
this is what inspired me months ago at the Model as Muse exhibit at the Met.
that i subsequently got kicked out of for arriving too late.
i will be Ms. Patchett on saturday night next to all the ghouls and witches
i will stand out the way Irving Penn made this model A MUSE.
happy halloween kiddies!
don't forget to knock on doors on the upper east side and ask for Chanel treats or they'll get LES tricked!
xoxo

love is not pop
Change of Heart from El Perro Del Mar's new album
Love is Not Pop 2009
victoria is at it again, its beautiful. and perfect addition to my iPod this week. she is so vintage cute, with the short cut and fun duds. the tune is lykke li remniscent, but this former member of the Concretes does it better (and so much less whiny..ha). so mellow and a little jazzy. neither happy or sad, just melancholic and breezy. free show on tuesday in nyc. i will be there. will you? if you don't know about El Perro Del Mar, check out God Knows (this song was on a friends mix cd and i feel in love) and I Can't Talk About It. she is such a delight, like a trip to the candy store and leaving with a lollipop in your mouth. : )
and i found my friends the FREE download. no need for thanks, just go get it.
we will never stop, he will never stop.

fall doll
Fall 09 Erdem (this collection is full of the cutest Fall DRESSES EVER!!)
this is really one of the cutest little autumn dress and practical for work. (which is sadly how my mind works these days...)
i love the mustard skirt (ever since my sister went through that year of only wearing it...it grew on me immensely. it isn't easy to wear, yet so wearable)
the textiles in satin (or silk?) of this collection made the simple shapes chic. the inky colourscape was so refreshing, but still very fall appropriate.
loopy neckpieces to replace traditional boring scarves, LOVE.
i always love tights with my dresses, and the shoes are maj, echoing those amazing colorblocked prints from the dresses.
its spring 09 Lanvin
but i can't help but see it this fall with a cute coat, then take it off for evening and big reveal
i love this volume, and recently bought a dress with this type of (almost maternity) wide waist and its very faltering
and so comfy...and still chic. too much of the stuff i own is tight (i mean fits me like a glove, so perfectly ha) and at the end of a night i am so damn relieved to remove it. ha AGAIN the chic wearable mustard colour in a big shoulder LOOP. sidenote: not only do i love mustard for autumn style...i love it smeared on a sandwich. yum
happy autumn fashionites! let the leaves fall...

hot or not?
so goth is cool, who doesn't love wearing black?
and that necklace is major, huge and well...fucking awesome! silver+tribal=collar cool
the hair is huge, fluffy and a strange shade of purply silver grey
and those earring are equal parts klingon, native american and elfin.
but something still feels off.
i am still inspired, but like my mother says with fashion,
Sometimes less is better.
and Coco used to say when you are about to leave to go out,
take one thing off.
what do you think?
(from facehunter.com, which i hadn't been on in a few months. its way too chic/posed now, not quite as self-conscious as the satorialist, but its very fashionmag and not street fashion anymore, does anyone else agree?)
