tights terrorist

repost from the sartorialist, from god knows when
first off the surroundings are stunning
she is in a surrealist painting!
[click on image, for a CLOSER LOOK at details]
the glasses (make me miss my vintage raybans *tear*) and the hat/headpiece cocked to one side
reminds me of myself so much
the blazer and clutch are classic, timeless, chic must-have addition accessories to any outfit
BUT
its THOSE TIGHTS that make the look
i can't tell you how many pairs of tights i ruin in one days wear (or one hours....)
i spend money on them and for all intensive purposes they are still functional with one run, so i save them
BUT
after several runs, the rubbish bin is calling..
BUT if you add some more strategically placed runs, they are fashion
they are Rodarte-Prada-Miu Miu-esque
AND this I love...
SO before you toss out your next stocking buy (especially if they are Wolford and cost you an arm AND A LEG)
save then for some rock'n'roll contrast with your leather booties
or for some pretty contrast a la Courtney Love with some frilly dress
embrace your awkwardness and dishelved self
wear your runny tights with pride
and STYLE

fall doll

Fall 09 Erdem (this collection is full of the cutest Fall DRESSES EVER!!)
this is really one of the cutest little autumn dress and practical for work. (which is sadly how my mind works these days...)
i love the mustard skirt (ever since my sister went through that year of only wearing it...it grew on me immensely. it isn't easy to wear, yet so wearable)
the textiles in satin (or silk?) of this collection made the simple shapes chic. the inky colourscape was so refreshing, but still very fall appropriate.
loopy neckpieces to replace traditional boring scarves, LOVE.
i always love tights with my dresses, and the shoes are maj, echoing those amazing colorblocked prints from the dresses.

its spring 09 Lanvin
but i can't help but see it this fall with a cute coat, then take it off for evening and big reveal
i love this volume, and recently bought a dress with this type of (almost maternity) wide waist and its very faltering
and so comfy...and still chic. too much of the stuff i own is tight (i mean fits me like a glove, so perfectly ha) and at the end of a night i am so damn relieved to remove it. ha AGAIN the chic wearable mustard colour in a big shoulder LOOP. sidenote: not only do i love mustard for autumn style...i love it smeared on a sandwich. yum

happy autumn fashionites! let the leaves fall...
